History

Boozie’s Bar & Grill, founded in 1979, welcomed Mark McClintock as its new owner in 2008. In the wake of Mark’s passing, we honor his enduring legacy by continuing to serve exceptional food and outstanding service at our new location, Davenport’s historic Freight House.

Davenport’s historic Freight House, built by the Milwaukee Road Railroad in 1917, served as a vital hub for goods, fueling the city’s economy with its central riverfront location. After its railroad days, this National Register of Historic Places building underwent renovations and transformed into a multi-use commercial space housing restaurants, clubs, and now, a popular farmers market and local food businesses, continuing its legacy as a community gathering spot.

The Freight House remains a historic landmark and a vibrant community center, celebrating its century-long role in Davenport’s commercial and social life. We are thrilled to be part of this community.
